Be Vivid and Vivacious in Tangerine Tango

 Pantone a world renowned authority on color for the last 45 years has selected Tangerine Tango as their Color of the Year 2012!   Here is what they have to say about their color selection;  “The 2011 color of the year, PANTONE 18-2120 Honeysuckle, encouraged us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.”

“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Doesn’t that just sound delish!  They go on to suggest ways to incorporate this into our homes;  “Energize interior spaces with Tangerine Tango patterned home accessories. Pillows, bedspreads and tabletop accessories in this high-impact hue add spice to any room. Or incorporate Tangerine Tango appliances and personal electronics for an unexpected pop of color. Looking for an inexpensive way to perk up your home? Paint a wall in Tangerine Tango for a dynamic burst of energy in the kitchen, entryway or hallway.”

Orange is a great color if you are slightly conservative!  Since Orange is made up of Red and Yellow, here Is a little bit of info on both that makes Tangerine Tango so yummy!   Red is hot, represents the element of fire and will bring into your home the energy of joy and excitement.  Red is the Chinese color of luck and happiness. Red is symbolic of love, courage and passion.  Yellow on the other hand is fun, represent fire and earth.  It invokes sunlight, is cheerful and uplifting. Yellow creates a cozy welcoming feeling and energy into our homes!

You may not be aware of how much orange is on the market and like any color there are varying shades, find one that works for you and bring that touch of orange into your home.  Think about it, who doesn’t want to have more energy, to feel great about their start of each day, to be uplifted, passionate and happy?  So how will you bring Tangerine Tango into your home?  Will it be through pillows, a glass bowl of oranges and tangerines for your kitchen counter, fresh flowers, a throw blanket, perhaps a rug?   Or will you dare enough to paint a wall of this vivacious color?  After all it’s just paint!   Check out these pictures and for more on an Orange room, check out my Pin Board on Pinterest!   You’ll find me here;

    Beautiful pictures Linda. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of orange or tangerine. 🙂 None of it in my house or my garden. I’m going to be out of style in 2012!
