How exquisite is this setting for a BBQ in a lush garden setting? So beautiful from the full hanging baskets, to the moss between the flagstone, to the abundance of trees and leaves to feel enveloped in a blanket of natures beauty!
This dinner party for ten takes shape with two round patio tables, pulled close enough to be able to enjoy the conversation of each.
We started out the setting with cream color round table clothes but with the cream of Villa Stoneware from Willow House, we needed another layer of color, so that the dishes would pop. At first we tried a bright green square table cloth, but with the lush green of nature all around the dinner guests as well as the different green hue of the homeowner’s salad plates, the green table cover wasn’t going to work. So off we went to the store and found these yellow clothes. Now there wasn’t any competition with the greens.
The Rosedale Planter basket started out with a yellow cloth napkin in it, but we switched that out for a green to bounce off of the yellow.
These summery plaid napkins had an array of colors with frayed edges add a bit of summer fun and whimsy. They were gently placed in each water glass. Doesn’t it add simply add a bit of feathery lightness like that of the leaves on the trees?
The centerpiece was three glasses filled with Gerber Daisies in the colors of the napkins. As you can see they were cluster in the center and four Firefly Lanterns were added for ambience.
Yet, the center of the table lacked a present and so one more layer was added to the table with the homeowner’s round green placemat. It created the perfect jumping off point for the Gerber Daisies. Don’t be afraid to experiment with adding more layers to your tables and soon they will be as lush and inviting as these surroundings.
Seeing how this was a backyard BBQ with a casual feel, we kept the flatware to a minimum and with no need for a spoon with the entrée, we placed it at the top of the plate for use when dessert was served. Steaks were being served that evening steak knives were added to the tables.
With candles lit, the gardens beckon the guests to enjoy an evening of food and friendship, taking in the beauty of their surrounding and each other, giving thanks to two wonderful hosts!
